Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SaveVid ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. We built SaveVid to be simple and privacy-respecting: we do not require an account, and we do not collect or sell your personal information. Please read this policy together with the privacy policies of the third-party services listed below.

1Information we handle

SaveVid does not ask you to sign in and does not collect names, emails, or contacts. The app works with the following data:

• Video links you paste: the URL you enter is sent to our download server only to fetch that video. We do not build a profile from it.
• Clipboard (optional): if you enable "Auto-Paste Detection", the app reads your clipboard only to detect a supported video link and fill the input box. The clipboard content is not stored or transmitted anywhere except as the link you choose to download.
• Downloaded videos: saved directly to your device's gallery/storage. They stay on your device — we never receive or store your downloaded files.
• Device & usage data: our advertising and analytics partners (below) may collect device identifiers (such as an advertising ID), IP address, and app-interaction data to serve ads and keep the service running.
• App configuration: the app reads a small, non-personal configuration value (the address of our download server) from our cloud database (Cloud Firestore) each time it starts, so we can keep the service running without requiring an app update. No data about you or your activity is written to this database.

2Permissions we request

• Storage / Media (videos): to save downloaded videos to your gallery, and to let the app's Gallery tab show and play the videos already on your device — the same way any video player or gallery app would. We do not access photos or any other media type.
• Notifications: to show download progress, completion, and important updates.
• Internet & network state: to download videos and detect connectivity.

Permissions are used only for the purposes above. You can revoke them anytime in your device settings.

3Advertising

SaveVid is free and supported by ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to show relevant ads and measure performance.

Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: before showing personalised ads, we present a consent choice using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You may accept or manage your choices, and you can change them later. If you do not consent, you will see non-personalised ads only.

4Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google AdMob — advertising. Policy
• Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging for notifications, Remote Config for app settings). Policy
• Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous app-usage statistics (screens viewed, feature usage) that help us improve the app. Policy
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports (device model, OS version, stack traces) so we can find and fix bugs. Policy
• Cloud Firestore — stores a single, public, non-personal configuration value (our download server's address) that the app reads on startup. Policy

5Data retention & storage

Downloaded videos and your app preferences are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them. Any data held by our advertising/analytics partners is retained according to their own policies.

6Children's privacy

SaveVid is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will address it.

7Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data held about you by our partners, and to opt out of personalised ads. You can reset your advertising ID in your device settings, and manage ad consent from within the app.

8Content ownership & responsible use

SaveVid is a tool for downloading videos you are authorised to save. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the source platform and applicable copyright law. Please respect content creators' rights.

9Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
